Spotlight #1: Where do you stand on plant-based cheeze??

by Kate Bermingham

Love it or not, the Vegan Cheeze category is here to stay. After a meteoric growth spurt before the pandemic, things have settled down and some clear winners remain. We’ve put the spotlight on three of the Big Cheezes…

Cathedral City

The leading dairy cheddar brand has sensibly chosen not to reinvent the wheel when it comes to its plant-based offering. Similar packaging to the dairy range means it can be found quickly and the use of the word ‘our’ creates a safe familiar space for cheeze newbies.

Violife Cheddarton

Violife are early category pioneers and have a great range and strong presence with their black colour blocking. They’ve cleverly referred to cheddar in the name and the townscape illustration with cathedral is a cheeky allusion to the leading brand’s main design asset.

Palace Culture Kimcheeze

The funky premium challenger, Palace Culture was born in Borough Market so has authentic foodie roots. Paired with Kimchee: such a cool flavour right now, it packs a punch on the fixture as well as the palate. Their Mouldy Goat tastes amazing too!

We’re definitely upgrading our cheeseboards with a couple of these…
